Shortly before the end, driven ones were penned into the forest; nothing to eat, to drink, no shelter. The traces are still visible: pits, scars in the trees - they pass away.
Below is another iteration of the Wanderlust series. The notches, initials, numbers in the tree barks, and the place still whispering of his testimony are being negotiated; a contemplation about covering and revealing [verdecken und entbergen] in the "Forest of Below".

|
Wanderlust, iteration #1 follows the trees of an alley. There are 64 of them, seen with two eyes - and in spring again. The path offers no destination, the repetition changes. A twofold picture of time, space and wandering.
This stereoscopic film delivers image pairs for two eyes using two different space-depicting concepts. The same trees are visited at two seasons. The soundscape tells of the oscillation of being on one s way or to know of others being on the move.

This film puts the double-visibility of stereoscopic devices to the test. By the double projection of two independent projectors the sync in time is impossible and the common 3D effect gets obsolete. Now the projected images may be singular, parallel, inverted or synchronous to each other. With the offered experimental arrangement the own eyes could be observed at work.
This film is made on and with film. Following structural concepts three iterations examine the media itself. The film is not just penetrated by light but by punches, too. The images are limited by the screen or a mask or a hole. The offscreen becomes part of the picture and gaps, delays and afterimages tell film.

ROTARIO performes a trip through time and space.
The experimental Stereo3D film consists of a single, monoscopic shot of a carousel ride. First, the image is flat, only passersby cause small irritations. The ride begins and the carousel unfolds into the depths of space. Then the image disjoins into eight fields, each with its own time. The continuous trips diverge, oppose. Finally, the spaces find in a field together, but everything is now different than before. A spacetime image - out of this world.

The camera's eyes follow the rail track through an autumn forest until the ruins of a bridge are reached. The film is at the end and goes back to its beginning. Four times over each other, four times next to each other.
Dead End rewind, reversal puts many certainties about stereo3D to the test.
Contrary to the principles of beautiful stereoscopic craft the film is, in an archaic gesture, shot on film with a spring mechanism camera. The immersive space image is a byproduct. Finally, stereoscopic cinema is made for two eyes: each eye its own image. These images may be singular, dual, parallel, synchronous or parallel to each other and singular or dual sync and etc. With the offered experimental arrangement the own eyes could be observed at work. This film is fragile and clear at the same time, see for yourself!

*Sepp Herberger negotiates the twilight between analogue and digital. The digital punch code is viewable as physical event and vice versa the analogue celluloid images have been transferred through the internet.
Film, a fleeting event limited on the very moment of its show, becomes manifested in this work as an object, a medium of thoughts. Handmade manipulations of the celluloid visualize this.
